ESCONDIDO - Irene Elizabeth Buschkamp, 81, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001.

Born Dec. 7, 1919, in Sydney, Neb., she lived in Escondido for 50 years. She was a homemaker for 58 years. She was a longtime member of the Church of the Resurrection. She assisted voters with voting and enjoyed golf, sewing, crosswords, square dancing, garage saleing and collecting.

Mrs. Buschkamp was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell F. Buschkamp, in 1964; and sister Phillis Brenner, in 2000.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Ron and Debbie Buschkamp of McKinleyville and Brian and Penny Buschkamp of Brawley; daughters and sons-in-law Deneice L. and Louis Vargas of Murrieta, Janis and Gerald Aden of Sherwood, Ore., and Laura and Richard Croft of Boise, Idaho; brothers and sisters-in-law Gene and Mary Moser, Dennis and Betty Moser and Don and Katie Moser all of Danbury, Iowa, and Loren and Bev Moser of San Diego; sisters and brothers-in-law Francis Brummer of Mapleton, Iowa, Ellen Weber of Danbury, and Loren Brenner of Danbury; grandchildren Shawn, Brandon, Darrell, Andrew, Margaret, Daniel, Joshua, Jessica, Charissa and Ethan; step-grandchildren Jerome and Amy; and six great-grandchildren.

Viewing was held from 4 to 8 p.m. with rosary recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary. A Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at the Church of the Resurrection with the Rev. Kenneth Delpriori officiating. A graveside service will be held out of state.

The family suggests memorial donations to the Vitas Hospice, 8880 Rio San Diego Dr., Suite 950, San Diego, CA 92108.

Alhiser-Comer Mortuary is handling arrangements.
