Spencer, Iowa- Donald Andrew Sheehan, 89, of Spencer died Saturday, January 30, 1999 at his home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer with the Rev. Roger Linnan officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City. A Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 7 p.m. today, with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. at the Warner Chapel.

Mr. Sheehan was born January 31, 1910, in Wagner, S.D., the son of Timothy and Cicily (Collias) Sheehan.

He received his education in various towns and graduated from Trinity High School in Sioux City in 1928. He graduated from Trinity College in 1932.

On April 20, 1942, he joined the Army Air Corps and served until his discharge October 4, 1945.

He married Ione Carey December 19, 1944, in Sioux City where they made their home.

For 40 years, he worked for Wonder Bread as a salesman. The couple moved to Spencer in 1949 and he retired in 1971. Mrs. Sheehan died in 1983.

Mr. Sheehan was a member of Sacred Heath Catholic Church, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, a former District Grand Knight, Golden K. Kiwanis and Glen Pedersen Post 1, American Legion.

Survivors include two daughters, (unreadable first dau) and Carol Cooper and her husband, Tom, of Milford; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild and nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Ann Sheehan; three brothers, Robert, Vin and Joe, and two sisters, Lila and Rose.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Marley, Don Doescher, Jerry Ramler, John Doescher, Doug Jones and Woody Schlicte.
