Mrs. Arthur L Gillespie

Funeral services were held January 21, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for Mrs. Arthur L. Gillespie, 46, of Milwaukee, formerly of Sioux City.

Mrs. Gillespie died unexpectedly at her home in Milwaukee January 15 following a heart attack.

Mrs. Gillespie, the former Florence Lorene Bolton, was born August 18, 1920, at Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She moved to Los Angeles as a child and then came to Sioux City living here from 1935 to 1948. She later moved to Kansas City, Missouri.

In 1960, she married Arthur L. Gillespie at Kansas City, and since her marriage had resided in Milwaukee.

She was a member of St. Matthew CME Church in Milwaukee and was program chairman of both the combined choir and the Missionary Society of the church. She was corresponding secretary of the United Church Women of the Milwaukee Area, pianist of the adult choir of Bethel AME Church and chairman of the Chicago District Board of Christian Education.

Mrs. Gillespie was a lay worker for the Milwaukee public school system and was president of the Parent-Teacher Association of the Twenty-First Street School in Milwaukee.

Survivors are the widower and seven stepchildren, all of Milwaukee; her parents, Mrs. Sara Denton of Los Angeles and J.D. Bolton of Sioux City, and two sisters, Mrs. Alma Usher and Mrs. Daisy Coleman of Los Angeles.
