Charles Kasimer Petronis, 83, 703 S. Linn St., died Monday at a Sioux City hospital.

Mr. Petronis was born March 4, 1883, in Lithuania and came to the United States and Philadelphia, Pa., in 1905. The following year he moved to Sioux City and worked for the Cudahy Packing Co. until retiring in 1948.

He married Tafelia Meskelunas July 14, 1913, in Sioux City. He was a member of St. Cashimir Catholic Church and the American Lithuanian Citizens Club.

Survivors are the widow; one son, Joseph of Sioux City; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Bilunas of Sioux City, Mrs. Earle Hansen of Holstein, Iowa and Mrs. Henry Dorkoski of Riverside, Conn.; one brother, Clemens Petronis in Lithuania, and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Casimir Catholic Church. The Rev. Simon Markunas will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Rutledge3 Funeral Home.

The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
