SIOUX CITY | Peggy E. Wright of Brandon, Fla., formerly of Sioux City, passed away on Feb. 13, 2016.

Peggy's wishes were to have her cremated remains taken back to Sioux City to rest with her mother, Alyce, and her son, Jeff. Condolences may be expressed at www.serenitymeadows.com.

Peggy was born on Nov. 22, 1924, to Abraham D. Bland and Alyce E. (Taggart) Bland, in Aberdeen, S.D. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Sioux City, where she was a member of Mayflower Congregational Church.

She married Dean O. Wright Sr., on Jan. 4, 1942, in Las Vegas, Nev. Dean and Peggy made their home in Sioux City, where the couple raised their family. Dean passed away on Dec. 2, 1985. Peggy later moved to Brandon, Fla., in October 1990.

In her younger years, Peggy enjoyed playing golf and bowling. In her later years, she enjoyed playing bingo.

Peggy is survived by her loving children son, Dean "Chris" Wright (Joan) of Valrico, Fla., and daughter, Kim Thousand of Sioux City. She is also survived by her grandchildren whom she adored, Amber, Heather, Corey, Stacey, and Kyle; and her precious great-grandchildren, Patrick, Noah, Jack, Chandler, Ryan, Luke, and Evan.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeff; grandson, Travis; and brother, Dick Bland.

Peggy requested no memorials, she would rather donations be made in her memory to the St. Jude's Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
