SIOUX CITY | John Walz of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, surrounded by his family at a Sioux City nursing home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Whitfield United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kristine Frank officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

John was born on March 25, 1967, in Rapid City S.D., the son of Don and Andrea (Shook) Walz.

John loved listening to music, collecting toy cars, coloring and drawing, but his greatest joy was being around and visiting with family and friends while enjoying a cup of coffee or Diet Coke. John will always be remembered as a bit of a flirt with the ladies. John was a member of Whitfield United Methodist Church.

John is survived by his parents; brother, James Walz; three sisters, Joanne Bay, Jewell Hayes, and Janet Cross; aunts and uncles; 12 nieces and nephews, Dominic, Meaghan, Desmond, Manie, Donavan, Denzel, Mariha, Shantel, Travon, Kaylie, Jennifer and John; and 10 grandnieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
