Florence N. Johnson, 95, of Sioux City died Friday, Dec. 29, 1995.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel with Dr. John Meyer of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday with the family present 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be an Order of Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m. conducted by Rose Croix Chapter 400, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Johnson was born June 4, 1900, in Sioux City, the daughter of Mads and Pauline (Jorgensen) Nielsen. She attended Sioux City public schools. On May 31, 1919, she married Harry F. Johnson in Sioux City. He died Nov. 3, 1990. A lifelong Sioux City resident, she had been city assessor for Sioux City for many years.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Rose Croix Chapter 400 OES; Hathor Temple 38, Daughters of the Nile and the Drill Team; American Legion Auxiliary Post 64 and Abu Bekr Shrine Temple Auxiliary. She had been a Girl Scout leader and Rainbow Girls Advisor. She had been an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, Harry Johnson of Spokane, Wash. and Bob Johnson of Sioux City and a grandson, Jamie Johnson.
A memorial has been established in her name for the Shrine Crippled Children’s Transportation Fund.
