9 August 2015SIOUX CITY | Kimberly Y. Brooks, 50, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Sioux City, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at an Omaha hospital, after a three-year battle with cancer.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Visitation will be 11 to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Kim was born Feb. 25, 1965, in Denver, Colo., the daughter of Reginald and Flora (Ware) Brooks. Kim grew up in Chicago and graduated from South Shore High School in 1982. She had worked at Gateway, MCI and most recently, Home Depot.
Kim enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Casanova Montiez Brooks and daughter-in-law, Julie Brooks of Omaha; her mother, Flora Brooks of Omaha; her father, Reginald Brooks of Chicago; her grandson, Casanova Montiez Brooks Jr. of Omaha; her brother, Darryl Montiez Brooks of Batavia, Ill.; three sisters, Siobhan Carter, Tia Brooks and Tiffany Brooks, all of Chicago; and her nieces, Jessica Smith and Miciha Brooks, both of Chicago.
Kim was preceded in death by her grandparents; two aunts, Ceceilia and Patricia Ware; and her uncle, Jimmie Montiez Ware
