9 October 2015SIOUX CITY | Jeanette C. Johnson, 79, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, at her residence after a battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Concordia Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Henry Witte officiating. Entombment will be in Logan Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation with the family will be 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Jeanette was born on May 13, 1936, to Albert and Lucille (Felger) Wegner. She attended St. John Lutheran School in Battle Creek, Neb., and later graduated from Battle Creek High School.
On June 24, 1956, Jeanette married Paul S. Johnson. They lived several years in Wayne, Hoskins, and Tilden, Neb., before moving to Sioux City in 1965. Jeanette was a substitute teacher, then worked at Seaton Dry Cleaners, and Bush Dry Cleaners.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, Paul of Sioux City; son, Tom (Lula) Johnson of Easton, Kan.; daughter, Judy (Eric) Johansen of Sioux City; brothers, Albert Wegner of Omaha, and Jim (Delores) Wegner of Norfolk, Neb.; brother-in-law, Carl Mandal of Norfolk; grandchildren, Jesse (Katie), Jeremy (Amy Jo), and Kaile (Amy); four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carolyn Mandal; infant brother, Robert; sister-in-law, Donna Wegner; and great-granddaughter, Jaycee Jo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Concordia Lutheran Church or Hospice of Siouxland
