27 December 2000Donald R. Williams, 74, of Harrison, Ark., formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at St. John's Medical Center in Springfield, Mo.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Sioux City.
Mr. Williams was born July 20, 1926, in Moville, Iowa, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Flora (Reed) Williams. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Bonita M. Hughes in 1949. The couple made their home in Sioux City. He was employed with Swift and Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1986. They then moved to an acreage near Harrison.
He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gregory A. of Harrison, and Jeffrey C. and his wife, Angela of Sioux City; two brothers and their wives, Robert and Stella, and Charles and Dorothy, all of Sioux City; two sisters, Evelyn Torno and Joyce Whitaker, both of Sioux City; and four grandchildren, Jay C., Tyler, Ryan and Allyson Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Williams; and a brother, Tom
