Lois L. "Loie" Frink, 77, of Sioux City died Monday, March 24, 2008, at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

Her wishes were to have her body cremated. Memorial services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with the Rev. Merlin Schrad officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Loie was born April 5, 1930, in Danbury, Iowa, the daughter of David and Besse (Baird) Rogers. She graduated from Central High School in 1948.

She married Jim R. Frink on Aug. 8, 1953 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City. She was a financial counselor and worked in preadmissions for St. Luke's Regional Medical Center for 15 years, retiring in 1995. She also was an assistant manager for Younkers Candy and Bakery and an assistant manager for the candy stripers at St. Luke's.

Her happiest years were spent raising her children, sewing beautiful clothes and her favorite holiday was St. Patrick's Day, when she dressed as a leprechaun. She was a gift to us all, always with a wit and a smile that could turn the gloomiest of days into sunshine. She will be deeply missed by her family and all that were lucky enough to know her.

She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America, Rosary Society and the Moose Lodge in South Sioux City.

Survivors include her husband, Jim R. Frink of Sioux City; her children and their spouses, Mardi Jo Hendricks and Al Butler of Sioux City, Connie Lee Frink of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jay J. and Candi Frink of Shreveport, La.; a son-in-law, Bill Wetzel of Sioux City; grandchildren, Aaron, Nicole and Jayson Frink and Brandi Wetzel; three sisters, Betty McCormick, Annetta Weihe and Mickey and Glenn Hoff, all of Sioux City; and a brother, John "Buddy" and Mary Ann "Mimi" Rogers of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ruth Perley Rogers; and a daughter, Kerry Frink-Wetzel.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the devoted caregivers at Westwood Care Center and the support of Hospice of Siouxland and all the doctors and staff at the June E. Nylen Cancer Center.
