Marvin Byron Brotherton, 83, of Reno, Nev., formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999, at his residence.

Private services were held Aug. 12 in Reno. Memorial services will be held in Bloomfield, Neb., at a later date.

Mr. Brotherton was born April 13, 1916, in South Sioux City, the son of Frank and Edith (Powell) Brotherton. He was raised in Sioux City.

He married Clara McMillian on Nov. 7, 1959, in South Sioux City. He was a truck driver with Sioux City Motor and Walter Woods. He also owned and operated his own trucking business for 10 years. The couple moved to Reno from Sioux City in November 1998.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Linda Ronholdt of Reno; two grandchildren, Amy Barrow and Amanda Ripley; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Ida Woods of Mesa, Ariz
