Yachiyo Hawkins, 65, of Sioux City died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m.

Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. The body was cremated, there will be no visitation. There will be a private burial in Graceland Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Hawkins was born Dec. 27, 1933, in Kobe, Japan. She married George Hawkins on March 16, 1970, in Toyko, Japan. The couple moved to Sioux City on July 4, 1970. She became a U.S. citizen on Sept. 12, 1994.

She was employed with the Sioux City Country Club for several years. She enjoyed needle working and fishing.

Survivors include her husband; a brother and three sisters, all of Kobe, Japan; mother and father-in-law, Grace and Art Hawkins of Sioux City; a brother-in-law and his wife, David and Gloria Hawkins of Sioux City; and two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Helen and Jim Foix and Donna and Terry Thiele all of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; a brother; and two sisters
