Paulette J. Smith, 57, of Sioux City died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999 at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin M. Richter officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Smith was born July 5, 1942, in Sioux City, the daughter of Cecil L. and Charlotte (Martin) Brooks.

She married Russell William "Billy" Kesler. He died in 1963. She married Jiles "Sonny" Barbee. She later married Dennis E. Smith.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Survivors include her special friend, Ray Campbell Jr. of Sioux City; her stepfather, John Holincheck of Sioux City; four sons, Douglas Kesler and his wife, Debbie of Georgia, Dennis Smith Jr. and his fiancee, Stephanie Nordstrom of Holstein, Iowa, Joseph Smith of Sioux City and Tony Smith and his wife, Rachel of Sioux City; three daughters, Johna Arthaloney and her husband, Lonnie of Sioux City, Christine Herfel and her husband, Paul of Sioux City and Sarah Smith of Oklahoma; three brothers, Jerry Brooks of Sioux City, John Holincheck Jr. and his wife, Janet of Garden City, Kan., and Micahel Holincheck and his wife, Kate of Fairfax, Va.; two sisters, Sonya Rowland of Knoxville, Iowa, and Shirley Nichols and her husband, Jerry of Sioux City; 19 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Kesler-Coffman; her parents and grandparents.

Pallbearers will be Tony and Dennis Smith Jr., Doug Kesler, Joseph Smith, Paul Herfel and Thomas Coffman.
