Esther M. Cronan, 95, of Sioux City died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Kathy Wicks of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cronan was born Oct. 19, 1903, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Chas and Anna Marie (Peterson) Nielsen.

She married Timothy Cronan on Aug. 16, 1927, in Yankton, S.D. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1947. He died March 8, 1970, in Sioux City. She was employed with Lipmans, J.C. Penney and T.G. and Y Department stores as a retail sales clerk until retiring.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne LaFleur of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Timothy and Richard Frerichs and Susan Zuraff; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a niece.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Frances M. Hutchinson
