SIOUX CITY | Darlene L. (Rosenbaum) Harrison, 69, of Sioux City died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with the Revs. Russell Senstad and David Zirpel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time on Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue. Online condolences may be sent to www.waterburyfuneralserviceinc.com.

Darlene L. (Rosenbaum) Harrison was born on June 30, 1945, in Union County, S.D., the daughter of Howard and Ida (Strand) Rosenbaum. Darlene graduated from Elk Point (S.D.) High School.

She worked at Palmer Candy Company, retiring in 1999 after 25 years. She then began her second career. Darlene was in the first-year classes of Bridget Hofling’s Tri-State Nursing. Darlene worked in the home health care field for the next decade.

She loved traveling. Darlene was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Red Hat Society. She was involved with the monthly Lutheran Women Missionary League with the church and the YMCA Aqua Aerobics classes.

Darlene is survived by her son, James Dewey and his wife Lisa of Sioux Falls, S.D.; her daughter, Ranae and her husband Danny Miller of Kingsley, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Joseph Schermer of Colorado Springs, Colo., Connor Dewey of Sioux Falls, Ian and Faith Dewey of Alamogordo, N.M., Nicole, Kayla and Bret Badgerow, all of Kingsley; her brother, Randy Rosenbaum and his wife Norma of Elk Point; four sisters, Lavonne Minor of Elk Point, Corrine and her husband Cecil Horton of Akron, Iowa, Virginia and her husband LeRoy Sundleaf of Elk Point, and Ruthie Werkis of Linn Grove, Iowa; two sisters in-law, Marlene Rosenbaum and Janet Rosenbaum, both of Elk Point; her brother in-law, Marvin Simons of South Sioux City; her extended family, Jeff and Connie Harrison and their two sons, Craig and Adam of Papillion, Neb., and Darcy Harrison of Norfolk, Neb.; other relatives and many friends, including her loving dog, Lucy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Harrison on April 2, 2014; her parents; two brothers, Russell and Richard Rosenbaum; two sisters, Donna Mae Simons and Norine Horton; and one grandson, Kyle Badgerow.

The family wishes to thank Synergy HomeCare and Care Initiatives for their hospice care during this time.
