MOVILLE, Iowa | Hilda Lloyd, 74, of Moville passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at a Sioux City hospital.

Per her wishes, the body was cremated. A celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Hilda was born on Jan. 8, 1940, in Harnett County, N.C., to Emmitt and Dessie (Woodell) Garner. She graduated from Cleveland High School in North Carolina.

She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gary Lloyd on Nov. 25, 1960, in Denison, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2007, in Ida Grove, Iowa.

She enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling the world and going to casinos. She also enjoyed bird watching and the company of her grandchildren. She was an avid Vikings, Iowa Hawkeyes and NASCAR fan.

Hilda is survived by her son, Jeff (special friend, Tina Shinalt) Lloyd of Moville; son, Kevin (special friend, Tami Eck) Lloyd of Kiron, Iowa; daughter, Shannon (Brett) Harkness of Alvord, Iowa; a stepdaughter, Kellie (Michael) Valdez of Rancho Murrieta, Calif.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother, Jimmy (Jolen) Garner of Buies Creek, N.C.; sister, Nancy Maddox of Buies Creek; brother-in-law, Richard Priebnow of Rockport, Texas; and sister-in-law, Donna Lloyd of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Carolyn Priebnow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or St. Judes Children's Research Hospital
