SIOUX CITY | Jack Pierce Lemmon, formerly of Sioux City, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Oct. 17, 2014.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at First Congregational Church in Rockford, Mich.

He was born on May 29, 1930, in Davenport, Iowa. Jack graduated from Davenport High School in 1947 and attended Iowa University. Jack had a highly successful career in the trucking industry, employed by Mack Truck of Allentown, Pa.

Later, he moved to Sioux City, where he bought and operated Worldwide Truck Parts & Metals and began an export and aluminum recycling business for 25 years, retiring in 2001. After retiring, and moving to Rockford, Mich., he and his wife became members of First Congregational Church.

His hobbies were many including fishing, baseball, duck and pheasant hunting, gardening, mowing grass, solitaire, reading newspapers and business magazines and spoiling his family. He was an excellent model builder.

He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Marilyn (Schmidt), his high school sweetheart. Jack is survived by three children, Kathye (Robert) Vidal of Rockford, Sharon (Michael) Phillips of Boulder, Colo., and Rick (Deb) Lemmon of Sioux City; and six adored grandchildren, Alex, Rory, Sirian, Kelsi, Christian and Shilo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters; and granddaughter
