KINGSLEY, Iowa | Nellie Helen McCune, 90, of Kingsley passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Rohde Funeral Home in Kingsley. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in West Fork Township Cemetery, Climbing Hill, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Nellie was born on Dec. 15, 1923, to William Allen and Grace (Mumford) Hooker, near Lawton, Iowa. She graduated from Lawton High School in 1941 and attended business school in Sioux City. She worked in Armour & Co. office until her marriage on Jan. 13, 1946, to Dale Winfield McCune.

After their marriage, they farmed in Randolph, Neb. for three years after which time they moved to Lawton, where they lived until 1951. They moved to the Kingsley area in 1951, where they farmed until their retirement. In 1976, they moved into Kingsley, where they have lived since.

Nellie was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church and a member of United Methodist Women. She enjoyed sewing and making sugar cookies.

Nellie is survived by her husband, Dale of Kingsley; a daughter, Diane (Mike) Mathison; a son, William (Kim) McCune; daughter-in-law, Karen McCune; five grandchildren, Brandon (Jen) McCune, Angie McCune, Missy (Larry) Curtis, Matt (Breon) Mathison, and Jess McCune; four great-grandchildren, Jack, Danny, Jenna and Dylan McCune; two great-step-grandchildren, Evelyn and Vivian; several nieces and nephews; and her sister-in-law, Evelyn Stahl.

She was preceded in death by her son, Danny in 2010; parents; grandparents; and three, sisters, Mildred and Catherine Brinkerhoff and Frances Wallen
