SIOUX CITY | Edna V. Hollister of Bellevue, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Sept. 25, 2014, at a Omaha hospital following a brief illness.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery, 6605 Morningside Ave. in Sioux City, on the hillside west of the pond.

Edna was born on July 24, 1926, in Moorhead, Iowa, to Frank and Mary (Nickolieson) Johnson. After graduating as valedictorian from Moorhead High School with the class of 1943, she accepted a position with the F.B.I. in Washington, D.C.

There she met and married Marion "Holly" Hollister. To this union four children were born, Wanda, Rita and twins, Terry and Mary. They moved to Sioux City in 1949. After Holly's death, Edna worked at Jolly Time Popcorn until retiring in 1994.

She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church.

She is survived by her daughter, Rita Card of Omaha; a son, Terry and his wife, Karen (Slavens) of Flower Mound, Texas; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Holly; daughters, Wanda Ruhrer and Mary Hollister; her parents; and two sisters
