SIOUX CITY | Lisa Louise (Hughes) Burrell, 50, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Sioux City, with Dr. Floyd E. Brown officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City.

Lisa was born on May 16, 1964, in Sioux City, the daughter of Velmer and Ardith (Kellogg) Hughes. She grew up in the Emerson, Neb., area and graduated from Emerson-Hubbard High School. She received her bachelor's degree in business administration from Wayne State College. After college, she worked at Pearl Vision and then managed Eyemart.

Lisa was a member of and very active at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was always smiling, had a winning personality and positive attitude. She loved the Lord.

Survivors include her mother, Ardith Hughes of Sioux City; two children, Robyn Burrell and Robert Burrell Jr. of Sioux City; sisters, Penny (Roger) Jacobson of Shelby, Mont., and Nancy (James) Manning of Jackson, Neb.; brother, Billy Jo (Sheryl) Hughes of Dunn, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Velmer Hughes; a brother, Velmer Hughes Jr.; sister, Katherine Ragsdale; and niece, Kimberly Hughes.
