SIOUX CITY | Shirlee Ann (Urness) Olson, 87, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014.

A private ceremony and internment has been held at Desert Hills Presbyterian Church in Scottsdale, Ariz.

She was born in Lamberton, Minn., on July 7, 1927. She attended school there through 12th grade and then continued her studies at the University of Minnesota, where she majored in home economics.

Shirlee and Robert lived in South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Florida, and, for the past 16 years, in Cave Creek, Ariz. Shirlee worked as an interior designer for most of her life and owned her own business, Someone's House Gifts and Interiors, in Brainerd, Eden Prairie and Chanhassen, Minn., and in Arizona.

They loved boating and living at the lake, golfing, renovating houses, playing cards, and just being with their many friends and relatives. Shirlee always had a great love for family, for friends, and for things of beauty.

Shirlee is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert; her son, Jeffrey and his wife, Nancy; her daughter, Jana and her husband, Randy Magnuson; her grandchildren, Sarah (Mike and great-grandchild Zach), Sonja, Erik, and Christopher; her brothers, Bernt and David (Pat); brother-in-law, Charles (Mavis); a sister-in-law, Eileen; and nieces and nephews.

Memorials can be made to Desert Hills Presbyterian Church, The National Kidney Foundation, or the charity of your choice.

Shirlee was very loved by all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed
