Mrs. Bessie Anne Clapper, 52, of 2411 Fifth, died in a hospital here Wednesday night after an operation. She had been a resident of Sioux City the last 22 years.

The Westcott-Doughty-Chandler funeral home is in charge.

Mrs. Clapper was born at Lima, Ohio, April 26, 1886. She was married there to Frank E. Clapper September 23, 1905. They resided at Lima 10 years before moving to Hudson, S. D, where they lived two years before making their home in Sioux City.

Survivors include her widower; her father, John W. Crawford of Lima; four sons, Arthur of Sioux City, John of Mason City, Ia., Edgar of Des Moines, and Morris of Sandusky, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Sammoris of Mason City; seven brothers, H. F. and T. E. Crawford of Sioux, City, Charles of Westfield, Ia., W. L. Crawford of Elida, Ohio, and Guy, J. B. and Harry Crawford of Lima, and four sisters, Mrs. George Mathwig of Sioux City, Mrs. Guy Stoddard of Lima, Mrs. John Warfield of Frankfort, Ind., and Mrs. H. L. Wurmser of Cortland, Ind., and Mrs. Merrill Sisk Of Flint, Mich.
