24 June 1983ANTHON, Iowa — Rita Luckel, 52, of Anthon died Wednesday in a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon. The Rev. J.G. Skahill will officiate. Burial will be in Mount St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Anthon. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in the Walter Funeral Home in Anthon.
Mrs. Luckel, the former Rita Stortz, was born Sept. 6, 1930, at Kingsley and graduated from Kingsley High School in 1949.
She married Don Luckel April 19, 1954, at Kingsley. They lived in the Kingsley community until 1966 when they moved to Anthon. He died Nov. 12, 1982. She worked at Hoffman Clover Farm Store and the Homestead Cafe in Anthon and was an Avon representative.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and McNiff Post 389, American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Michael of Sioux City and Thomas of Anthon; two daughters, Marcia and Mary, both of Anthon; her mother, Mrs. Clara Stortz of Kingsley; one sister, Mrs. Bonnie Garrels of Sioux City, and two grandchildren.
