HOLLY SPRINGS, Iowa — Mrs. R. Freeman Coover, 85, of Holly Springs, died Sunday in a hospital at Onawa of long illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the United Methodist Church at Hornick. The Rev. Dale Church will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery at Holly Springs. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the
Willman Funeral Home at Rodney.Mrs. Coover, the former Edna Larsen, was born March 4, 1896, at Hornick. She was a lifelong area resident except for two years when she attended Dana College at Blair, Neb.
She married Mr. Coover March 5, 1914, at Sioux City. She was employed as a cook in the Holly Springs school system for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Coover was a member of the United Methodist Church at Hornick.Survivors include the widower; three sons, True and Howard, both of Sioux City and Tom of Savannah, Ga.; four daughters, Mrs. Edgar (June) Shattuck of Smithland, Mrs. Clarence (Nina) Martinsen, Newcastle, Neb., Joyce Swalley, Sioux Falls, S.D. and Mrs. Janice Dahl of Lemon Grove, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
