28 July 1988Taurino Delgado Sr., 71, 1903 S. Patterson St., died Tuesday, July 26, 1988, in a nursing home in Omaha after a brief illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City.
Monsignor Thomas M. Donahoe will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. in Berkemier Funeral Home.
Mr. Delgado was born Aug. 21, 1916, in Monterey, Mexico, and moved to Harlingen, Texas, as a child. He married Elva Villarreal Dec. 26, 1943, at Harlingen. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1962. He operated the Delgado Cafe for a number of years and then was employed by JC Penney Co., retiring in 1978.
Mr. Delgado was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; seven sons, Ramiro, Taurino Jr., Rudalfo, and Roberto, all of Omaha, Arnaldo of Sioux City and Abelardo and David, both of Placentia, Calif.; five daughters-in-law; three sisters, Trinidad Delgado and Lydia Delgado, both of Harlingen and Angie Lozano of Mercedes, Texas; a brother, Lupe Delgado of Seattle, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
