Martha "Opal" Butler, 74, 1804 Hawkeye Drive, died Tuesday at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home. The Rev. Carl 0. Fetterman, pastor of the North Sioux City Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Butler, the former Mirtha "Opal" Everingham was born March 22, 1907, at Climbing Hill, Iowa. She moved to Sioux City in 1928.
She married Earl S. Butler Sr. in May of 1930 at Dakota City. He died Dec. 1964, at Sioux City.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the Senior Citizens.
Survivors include three sons, Earl Jr., Ronald a
Sr. and Robert R., all of Sioux City; four daughters, Darlene McGuire of Emerson, Neb., Mary Ann Byrd and Dolly M. Chase, both of Sioux City and Bonnie Malcolm of North Sioux City; two brothers, Morris of Moville, Iowa, and Calvin of Sioux City; one sister, Eululia Grunig of Windom, Minn.; 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
