14 April 2014SIOUX CITY | Raymond C. Thomas Jr., 85, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014, at a local hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Indian Mission. Burial will be in Hobo Creek Cemetery in rural Lindy, Neb. Visitation will continue until time of service Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com.
Raymond was born on Aug. 4, 1928, in Sioux City, the son of Raymond S. and Flora M. (Tuttle) Thomas. He attended Sioux City Schools and was a lifelong Sioux City resident.
Raymond married Dorothy E. Dudley on March 4, 1950, in Center, Neb. He was senior warden at St. Paul’s Indian Mission for more than 30 years. He worked several other jobs before retiring from Goodwill Industries.
Raymond was an active member of St. Paul’s Indian Mission.
Raymond is survived by four sons, Clarence Thomas, Harold Thomas, Charles Thomas, and Terry Thomas, all of Sioux City; three daughters, Elaine (Norman) Provost, Barb Macias, and Phyllis Thomas, all of Sioux City; one brother, Leonard Thomas of Sioux City; 36 grandchildren; 103 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; two daughters; and one granddaughter, Destiny.
