Funeral Services Held Wed. For Robert Grause
Robert Lee Grause, 54, Bronson, Iowa, died Sunday, December 13 1987, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa, of cancer.
He was born November 13, 1933, in Osmond, Nebraska, to Joseph and Martha (McGee) Grause. He lived with his family in Aurelia, Washta, and Quimby before moving to Bronson in 1949 where he graduated from Bronson High School in 1952. He served with the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. On June 26, 1955, he married Marilyn Schellinger at Bronson. He owned and operated Grause Sheet Metal for 26 years.
He was a member of Elliott Creek Presbyterian Church in Bronson where he had served as an elder. He was the Bronson Little League coach for many years and later coached the Lawton town team. He was a Boy Scout leader with Bronson Troop No. 260, served nine years on the Lawton-Bronson School Board and was a member of Sergeant Floyd Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1973 of Sioux City.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; two sons, Robert, Jr. of Dallas, Texas, and Donald of Dodge City, Kansas; one daughter, Karen of Bronson; his mother and stepfather, Martha and Oscar Smith of Aurelia; one sister, Dora Boggs of Sergeant Bluff; five brothers, Paul of Sergeant Bluff, Roy of Cherokee, Joe of Vermillion, South Dakota, Gary of Sutherland and Jerry of Sargent,Nebraska; and one grandson, Scott.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 1987, in the Morningside Reformed Church in Sioux City with Dr. Louis Lotz officiating. Esther Van Dyke was the organist. Barb Widman, the pianist, accompanied Rene Goodwin, the soloist, in the selections "My God and I" and "Near To The Heart of God."
Bearers were Ted Burg, Jeff Frank, Marty Soole, Maynard Frank, James Soole, Neal Palmer, Douglas Rush and Joe Schellinger.
Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City with arrangements by the Wood Funeral Home, Sloan, Iowa.
