Joseph E. Gonnion, 51, a resident of Sioux City 38 years, died Tuesday at his home, 509 Perry street, after a five-year illness.

Mr. Gonnion was born April 1, 1895, at Lincoln, Neb., and came to Sioux City in 1908. A truck driver, he held membership in the California truckers' union.

Survivors include the widow, Ella M.; the mother, Mrs. J. J. Gonnion of Bellevue, Neb.; a sister, Estella Jones of Inglewood, Cal., and a brother, James E.; of Salem, Wis.

The body was taken to Perasso, Bros. funeral home
