John Staugaard, 70, a former Sioux City resident, died recently at the home of a daughter in Glendale, Cal. after a long illness.

Mr. Staugaard was born in Denmark December 24, 1875. He married Laura Absalonsen June 26, 1903. The family came to America and direct to Sioux City in 1910. He was in business here until 1940 when he went to California. His wife died in 1928.

Surviving are a son, John, Jr., with the air corps at Stockton, Cal., and three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Anderson of Glendale, Mrs. Elizabeth Owens of Soldier, Ia., and Mrs. Dorothy Dalquist of Minneapolis, and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were at Los Angeles with burial in the Glendale cemetery.
