STORM LAKE, Iowa — Phyllis J. Lillie, 66, of Storm Lake died Sunday, April 28, 1996, at a hospital in Storm Lake after a long illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ in Oto with the Rev. Karen Handke officiating. Burial will be in Bethal Piero Cemetery, near Anthon. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.

Mrs. Lillie was born Feb. 23, 1930, near Correctionville, the daughter of Gilbert and Mildred (Brownmiller) Buck. She graduated salutatorian from the Anthon High School in 1948 and taught rural school.

On June 23, 1950, she married Charles Lillie in Oto. The couple farmed in the Oto area for 25 years. They moved to Brainerd, Minn., in 1973, where they owned and operated resorts. In 1977, she began a ceramic business. They moved to Sergeant Bluff in 1980, to Alta in 1984 and to Storm Lake in 1989.

Mrs. Lillie was a former member of the Church of Christ in Oto where she was a member of the Mite Society and taught Sunday school. She was a 4-H leader for several years. She was a member and board member of the Ceramic Association.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters and their husbands, Judy and Kevin Rankin of Pierz, Minn., and Karla and Monty Grote of Newell; four sons and their wives, Bob and Sharon, David and Penelope and Jerry and Barbara, all of Yuma, Ariz., and Jim and Gwen of Dallas, Texas; two brothers and their wives, Wayne and Hulda of Anthon and Veryle and Nancy of Ohio; a sister, Norma Gibbs of Mesa, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
