5 April 1946Leon Hafits, 48, a former Sioux Cityan, died Wednesday at his home in Houston, Tex. He left Sioux City about 15 years ago.
The body will arrive here Saturday and funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday in the Westcott - Doughty - Chandler funeral home. Rabbi Saul Bolotnikov and Cantor S. Dainow will officiate. Burial will be in the Independent Farane plot in Graceland Park cemetery.
Mr. Hafits was born in 1898 in Russia. When 6 years old he came to Sioux City.
Survivors are the widow, Virginia, and a daughter, Miss Leona Lou, both of Houston; two brothers, Dave and Harry, both of Sioux City, and a sister, Mrs. Alfred I. Schwartz of Sioux City.
