5 April 1946John S. London, 78, a retired farmer who resided in the Carson, Ia., community nearly 65 years, died Thursday at the home of a son, E. H. London, 801 S. Cecelia street.
Mr. London was born June 7, 1867, at Knoxville, Ia. He came to Sioux City about six years ago after retiring from the farm.
Survivors besides the son are two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Gray of Long Beach, Cal., And Mrs. Lela Giles of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Douthitt of Winside, Neb., and Mrs. Dora Furrow of Modesta, Cal.; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The body will be sent Saturday from the Winter funeral home to Carson where funeral and burial will be Saturday afternoon.
