30 December 2003Esther M. McCue, 88, of Sioux City died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Morningside Nursing and Rehab Center following a lengthy illness.
The body was cremated. There will be no services. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.
Mrs. McCue was born Nov. 28, 1915, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of William and Mary (Oltmans) Heeren. She grew up in Le Mars and attended school there. She came to Sioux City around 1930 and had lived here since. She worked for Ginney's Follie for many years.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Julia "Tudy" Derby of Sioux City; two sisters, Helen Kelison and Emma Pahl, both of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Hank and Gladys Heeren of Sioux City; eight grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Suzi and Goldie; and 12 brothers and sisters.
