Inez Viola Donovan, 94, of Sioux City died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Craig Collison officiating. Burial will be in McCook Cemetery in North Sioux City. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Inez Viola Donovan was born Nov. 11, 1909, in Marnie, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Edith (Anderson) Nave.

She married Freeman Donovan on Sept. 28, 1926, at Elk Point, S.D. Together they made their home in the rural Sioux City area. They were married for 71 years. Inez lived a long and rich life filled with many adventures and interesting people. She lived through hard times and, with the help of her husband, raised nine children.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was very dedicated to her family and was loved deeply by all of them. Inez was very proud of all her children, showing them much love and kindness which they gave back to her. She made room in her home for all children. Inez enjoyed reminiscing about the old days and telling stories with all her friends and neighbors.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Hammack of Sioux City; four sons and their wives, Paul and Mary Donovan of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Mike and Teresa Donovan of Detroit, Mich., David and Quita Donovan of Detroit, and Tim and Kathy Donovan of Franklin, Tenn.; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Donovan of Sioux City; a son-in-law, Bud Bull of Idaho; 35 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Dale and Robbie Donovan; two daughters, Pat and Shirley; a son-in-law, Chuck Hammack; a brother; and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
