8 December 2003LAWTON, Iowa -- Bernice Lucille Keegan, 85, of Lawton died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at her residence following a brief illness.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Steven Brodersen of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Bernice Lucille Ford was born Aug. 10, 1918, in Yankton, S.D., the daughter of Thomas and Sarah (Edwards) Ford.
She married Robert L. Keegan on June 5, 1937, in Yankton. She had lived in Sioux City for several years and had been a resident of Lawton for the past 26 years.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City. She loved her family and taught them how to love.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Robert; three sons, Robert Jr. and his wife, Karen of Bronson, Iowa, Michael and his wife, Janice of Lawton, and Dan and his wife, Lynn of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Kathy Walker, Carol Schoonover, Elizabeth Brockhaus, Robert Keegan, Lynette Keegan, Patrick Keegan, Thomas Keegan, Teresa Copple, Christopher Keegan and Sarah Smith.
