7 December 2003Helen C. Shuck, 70, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Concordia Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Donald Schlesselman officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ireton, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Funeral Home.
Helen C. Shuck was born April 19, 1933, in Worthington, Minn., the daughter of the Rev. Henry W. and Hattie C. (Knopke) Krieger. Her family moved early in her childhood to Ireton, where she attended school and graduated from Ireton High School in 1950. Following school she was employed as a bank teller in Ireton.
In 1952 she moved to Sioux City, where she was employed as a teller at Security National Bank until her marriage in 1963, when she moved to several different towns throughout the Midwest. In 1976 she returned to Sioux City, where she worked as a teller for First National, and later at Firstar, until retiring in 1994.
She had been a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Sioux City since 1952.
Survivors include a daughter, Joan Shuck of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Robert and Genevieve Krieger of The Villages, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lois Krieger and Elinor Atkinson; two brothers, Herbert and Theodore Krieger; a brother-in-law, Herman Atkinson; and a nephew, Michael Atkinson.
