9 April 2014SIOUX CITY | Violet J. Jansen, 88, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Tess Panamarow officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until service time today at the funeral home.
Violet J. Hansen was born on Feb. 2, 1926, in Billings, Mont., the daughter of Jacob and Lucille (Park) Johnson. Violet was employed with The Battery Company, Kraft Foods, Wellers, and most recently St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, retiring in 1988.
Violet married Peter A. Jansen on Sept. 28, 1960, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
She loved to fish. She loved celebrating Christmas with family, decorating around the house, but most of all, she loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
Violet is survived by her husband, Peter; two sons, Duane Willfong and Mike Norgelas and his wife, Gina; four daughters, Charlene Johnson, Linda Jansen, Cindy Sherrill, and Julie Jansen; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eunice Padilla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Willfong; a daughter, Deanna Mahr; and two brothers, Eugene and Robert Johnson.
