Betty E. Florke, 85, of South Sioux City, NE and formerly of Correctionville, IA, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2011 at the Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City, NE.

There was a memorial service for Betty to celebrate her life on Tuesday April 5th, following the regular 2:00 p.m. worship service at Regency Square Care Center, 3501 Dakota Avenue, South Sioux City, NE with Pastor Kevin Roach officiated. Armstrong Funeral Home of Anthon, Iowa was entrusted with care of the arrangements.

Betty was born on December 8, 1925 the daughter of Chris and Cecelia (Clemmensen) Lorenzen.

She married Arnold Holler, on April 7, 1941. He passed away in June of 1966. She later married Freeman Petersen, on February 4, 1967 who passed away in May of 1971. She then married Vern Florke on September 1, 1972. He later passed away in September of 1994.

Betty enjoyed working at the Correctionville Nursing Home as a nurse's aide and cook. She was a long time cook at the Perkin's Café in Correctionville. Upon retiring Betty volunteered with Meals-on-Wheel's and was a Senior Companion for residence of Correctionville. She enjoyed dancing and playing cards.

Betty will be greatly missed by her three
children and their spouses, Kenneth (Linda) Holler of Colfax, WI, Elizabeth (Bill) Wenger of South Sioux City, NE, and Kristy (Chuck) Miller of Moville, IA, four sisters Vivian Tolle of Ida Grove, IA, Fern Ballard of Cherokee, IA, Dorthy Beaudette of Walthill, NE and Marge (Del) Rupp of Long Beach, CA; 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her three husbands, three brothers, Matt Lorenzen, Burdette Lorenzen and Bill Lorenzen, and a great-grandchild, Cole Clements.
