SIOUX CITY | Frances L. Buswell, 82, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at a local care facility after a brief illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. The Rev. Harold Tongen of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Frances was born July 31, 1931, in Sioux City. She was the daughter of Francis and Ethel (Tiller) Woestman. Frances graduated from Central High School and had been a lifelong Sioux City resident. She married R. James "Jim" Buswell on Oct. 28, 1949, in Sioux City.

Frances was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon. Frances served on the board of the Soup Kitchen and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She was also active in the Sun Valley Golf Association.

Survivors include her husband, R. James "Jim" Buswell of Sioux City; her daughter, Roxanne Hutt and her husband, Steven of Perryville, Ky.; her sons, Roger J. Buswell Jr. and his wife, Deneen of Castle Rock, Colo., and Kevin C. Buswell and his wife, Diane of Lakewood, Colo.; two sisters, Janette Linden and her husband, Bayne of McCook Lake, S.D., and Evelyn Dymkowski and her husband, Eugene of Clinton, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Wade Hutt, May Hutt Luong, Roger Buswell III, Patrick Buswell, Rachel Buswell, Stacy Benner, Jason Trujillo and Kristin Wagner; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents.
