Floyd G. Davis, 80, of Sioux City died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at his residence.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Donohue Sarff of Morningside Lutheran Church officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion Monahan Post 64.
Mr. Davis was born March 31, 1919, in Elk Point, S.D., the son of Chester and Dora (Hansen) Davis. He graduated from Elk Point High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a master sergeant during World War II, stationed in Italy.
He married Mary Shoemaker on Aug. 19, 1944 in Nitro, W.V. He was employed as a machinist with Sioux Tools for 39 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church, Moose Lodge and American Legion.Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Chet and Linda of Kingsley, Iowa; a sister, Delores Dickens of Glendale, Ariz.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald.
Pallbearers will be Steve Davis, Alen Friend, Joe Phelan, Mike Vos, Cole Harvey, Larry Dickens and Bret Kisley.
