27 March 2002Frank W. Sorensen Jr., 53, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Del Olivier of Augustana Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Sorensen was born Aug. 1, 1948, in Sioux City, the son of Frank W. and Doris H. (Stockfleth) Sorensen Sr. He was a resident of Sioux City for the majority of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He married Marlene A. Passick on Sept. 11, 1971, in Early, Iowa. Following his discharge from the military, he went to work for Swift and Co. Upon its closing, he became employed with Jolly Time Popcorn for several years. He had been employed with Gateway for the past 10 years.
He enjoyed photography and running. He was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. He was a friend of Bill W.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Sorensen of Sioux City; and a daughter, Stacey Sorensen of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers will be Dan Moore, Leonard Attema, Stanley Surber, Randy Haafke, Bob Oien, Ron Bergeson and George Breitenstein.
Memorials may be directed to Mid-America Air Museum.
