Margarita Diaz, 74, of Sioux City died Monday, March 25, 2002, at her residence following a 15-year battle with cancer.

Services and burial will be in held in Glendora, Calif. Sioux City arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Glendora arrangements are under the direction of Oakdale Funeral Home.

Mrs. Diaz was born Oct. 17, 1927, in El Chante, Jalisco, Mexico. In 1949, she married Felix Ruelas in Mexico. They moved to Santa Ana, Calif., in 1978. The couple was married 45 years before he died in August 1994, in Santa Ana. She moved to Sioux City in 1995. She was retired and a homemaker.

She was a member of Cathedral of the Epiphany Catholic Church in Sioux City.

Survivors include her children, Mario Ruelas of Fontana, Calif., Felix Ruelas of Santa Ana, Angel Ruelas of Tijuana, Mexico, Salvador Ruelas of Sioux City, Jose Ruelas of Sioux City, Margarita Ruelas of Escondido, Calif., Amalia Ruelas of Mexico City, Diego Garcia of Riverside, Calif., Maria del Rosario of Corona, Calif., and Lourdes Ruelas of Buena Park, Calif.; 41 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
