Ronald James Sidie, 58, of Sioux City died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Alex T. Washington officiating. Burial of the ashes will be at a later date. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Sidie was born Aug. 28, 1945, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Royal and Ella Ruth (Doll) Sidie. He graduated from Central High School in Sioux City in 1962.

He married JoAnn Funck on July 31, 1965, in Elk Point, S.D. He had worked for Wilson Trailer Co. for the past 19 years. He enjoyed watching sports, photography and his Harley.

Survivors include a son, Marc and his wife, Linda Sidie of Ankeny, Iowa; a daughter, Marcie and her husband, Terry Sidie of Sioux City; two grandsons, Blake and Wade Sidie, both of Ankeny; his significant other, Marie Calvert of Sioux City; a brother, Renae and his wife, Janie Sidie of Clarksdale, Miss.; a sister, Roshelle Sidie of Columbia, Mo.; his father, Royal Sidie of Rolla, Md.; and 14 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn in June 1995; his mother, Ella Ruth; and a daughter, Stacey Marie Sidie.
