SIOUX CITY -- Carl D. Larsen, 71, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kenny Hsu officiating, with a luncheon following the service. A private family interment will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Carl was born Feb. 24, 1938, in Sioux City, to Chris Jr. and Esther (Meyer) Larsen. After graduation from high school, he served his country in the U.S. Air Guard Reserves. He was married to Bev McWilliams on Nov. 8, 1957, at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Carl enjoyed spending his time being active in the Business Leaders Group, his church and youth football. He will be fondly remembered as a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who loved spending time with his family.

Carl is survived by his wife, Bev Larsen; daughters, Sarah (David) Storm and Julie Larsen; a son, Dr. David (Dr. Shannon Meyer) Larsen; grandchildren, Mark Storm, Leah Book, Andrew Storm, Anna Storm, Luke Larsen and Layton Larsen; one great-grandchild; brother, Adrian "Kit" (Sue) Larsen; extended family, Andrew (Laura) Sprague and their children, Cole and Owen and Mark (Julie) Jorgensen and their children, David and Katie.

Honorary pallbearers will be his poker buddies, Dick Matousek, Richard Jeffs, Tom Masteller and LeRoy Zeising.
