SIOUX CITY -- Macile E. Miller, 84, of Sioux City died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at Sunrise Retirement Community.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to meyerbroschapels.com.

Macile was born Oct. 19, 1925, in Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of John and Mary (Uhl) Hupke. She grew up in Mapleton and graduated from Mapleton High School.

She married Raymond Miller on April 21, 1944, in Oto, Iowa. Raymond died Oct. 26, 1988, in Sioux City. Macile came to Sioux City in 1942, and worked at Harold's Finer Foods, Fareway, the IGA in South Sioux City and Dial America.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. She enjoyed bowling, boating on the Missouri River, but most of all, spending time with all her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara and her husband, Larry Rousselle of Sioux City; a son, Kenneth Miller and his wife, Mary Kay of Salix, Iowa; two brothers, Dwayne Hupke and his wife, Dorothy of Sioux City and Leo Hupke and his wife, Kathy of Cherokee, Iowa; four sisters, Mary and her husband, John Young of Sioux City, Margie and her husband, Jim Young of Merrill, Iowa, June Beacom of Sioux City and Monica and her husband, Bill Johnston of St. Louis, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Laurie and her husband, Jim Welch of Albuquerque, N.M., Lynn Foster of Sioux City, Mark Rousselle and his wife, Lana of Pflugerville, Texas, Andrew Rousselle and his wife, Sherry of Hayes, Va., Michelle and her husband, Alex Zimmerman of Sioux City, Tawyna and her husband, Casey Mann of Des Moines, Travis Miller and his wife, Brooke of Chicago, Kendra and her husband, Joe Ely of Omaha, Corey Miller of Sioux City and Kim Miller of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; and 15 great-grandchildren, Madison, Kendall, Preston and Katie Welch, Mackenzie, Connor and Riley Foster, Olivia and Ava Rousselle, Tyler and Owen Rousselle, Keagan, McKenna and Kellen Mann and Kylie Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Delbert Hupke.

Pallbearers will be Travis and Corey Miller, Mark and Andrew Rousselle, Alex Zimmerman and John Young.

Memorials may be made in her name to Barbara Rousselle.
