PIERSON, Iowa — Beryl R. Fuller, 76, of Pierson died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Meadow Star United Methodist Church in rural Pierson, with the Rev. Bill Cotten officiating. Burial will be in Grand Meadow Cemetery, rural Washta, Iowa. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa.
Beryl was born Nov. 23, 1925, in Grand Meadow Township, rural Washta, the son of Earl and Emma (Baker) Fuller.
He graduated from Grand Meadow High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946.
After his honorable discharge, he worked in the Pierson area for Lloyd Nafe. He was later employed as a carpenter for the Pierson Lumber Co. Beryl then went into business for himself.
He married Joan Ruebel on June 9, 1962. After their marriage, they made their home in the Pierson area.
He was a member of Meadow Star United Methodist Church, where he served on various committees and was Sunday School treasurer for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Joan of Pierson; a son and his wife, Robert and Nicolette Fuller of Johannesburg, South Africa; a sister-in-law, Melva Fuller of Albany, Ore.; a niece, Karen Bland of Albany, Ore.; and a nephew, Earl Fuller III of Lenexa, Kan.
Beryl was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earl Fuller Jr. and Marlin Fuller; a sister, Verna Merlik; a niece, Marjorie Ruth Fuller; and a nephew, David Fuller. His sister, Oma Fuller, died Feb. 13, 2002, in Sioux City.
