Arthur T. Ford Jr., 83, of Sioux City died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. A.T. Washington officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Arthur T. Ford Jr. was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Sioux City, the son of Arthur and Clara (Berg) Ford Sr. He attended school in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1940. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in India and China.
He marred Vina Fritz on Aug. 3, 1946, in Sioux City. She passed away March 2, 1997, in Sioux City. After returning from the service, he worked for Northern, Burlington and Milwaukee Railroads.
He later served for 25 years on the Sioux City Fire Department, retiring in 1971.
He was a member of the Abu Bekr Shrine in Sioux City and Triangle Masonic Lodge 643 A.M. & A.F. in Leeds.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Linn and Paulette Ford of Mankato, Minn., and Craig and Kristina Ford of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Tiffny and her husband, Tim Hagan of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Adam Ford of Minneapolis; and a great-granddaughter, Madison Hagan of Sioux Falls.
He also was preceded in death by his parents.
