Glen V. Ford, 91, of Sioux City died Monday, Aug. 11, 1997, at a local nursing home from an extended illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Reorganized Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints with Elder Robert Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mr. Ford was born Feb. 19, 1906, in Lamoni, Iowa, the son of Fred and Lavine (Munkress) Ford.
He married Leah J. Donnell on June 11, 1942, in Ponca, Neb. She died on May 23, 1994, in Sioux City.
He was a residett of Sioux City for more than 60 years. He owned and operated Glen V. Ford Construction until his retirement in 1985.
He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a lay minister from 1948 to 1986 and a pastor of the Sioux City branch from 1957 to 1972.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Scot and Cathy Ford of South Sioux City and Ross and Peggy Ford of Sioux City; a daughter, Glennis Daniels of Ida Grove, Iowa; a sister and her husband, Dolla and Clarence Bohall of Lamoni, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Wanda Ford of Mapleton, Iowa; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray, Lee, Dale and Del Ford; and a son-in-law, Jack Daniels.
